Angstrom Microsystems (AGMS) (AGMS.OB) Target of Stock Spam
Angstrom Microsystems (AGMS) (AGMS.OB) is the latest target of a stock spam. Early Sunday morning (US Eastern) an email "how to invest it" arrived in a Windows Live Hotmail account. The email is pumping Angstrom Microsystems (AGMS) following the company's late-Friday afternoon (4:05 pm ET) press release on Market Wire "Angstrom Secures Another Installation." This is a rare case of actual financial details or the realization of revenues being announced! AGMS is said to have received an order for approximately $100,000.00 worth of blade servers at Massachusetts General Hospital [MGH]. However, a review of Angstrom's income statement shows zero revenues over the past year. Furthermore, PinkSheets.com has a "Caveat Emptor" warning label for AGMS.

Angstrom Microsystems (AGMS) (AGMS.OB) lost 15.00% on Friday to close at $0.51/share. It had a wide trading range of $0.51 - 0.64. Volume was only 30,000 compared to average 3m volume of 80k+. AGMS has a 52wk range of $0.51 - $1.61. Based on 16.052 million shares outstanding (as of Feb. 19, 2008), AGMS has a market capitalization of $8.19 million, according to PinkSheets.com. That is impressive considering zero revenues and of course no profits; Angstrom's net loss was $49,000 for the quarter ended March 2008. The company has also undergone two name changes in the calendar year. It was formerly Angstrom Technologies Corp until May 2008 and was formerly Sanford Exploration Inc until February 2008. It is disturbing that the press release is not mentioned on Angstrom's investor relations website.
